ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION OF
California Coalition of Appraisal Professionals (CaCAP)
A California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation

1. The name of the corporation is California Coalition of Appraisal Professionals (CaCAP).

2. This corporation is a nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation organized under the Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation Law. The purpose of this corporation is to engage in any lawful act or activity, other than credit union business, for which a corporation may be organized under such law.

3. The purposes for which this corporation is formed are:

a) To foster the public trust and to provide all California appraisers with a united voice through non partisan advocacy with legislative bodies, both State and Federal, and with government agencies and all other appraiser organizations;

b) To promote, protect, communicate, and raise funds to assure, an evolving, educated and highly skilled appraisal profession for all State licensed appraisers and for the general public;

c) To maintain, improve and adhere to the Uniform Standards or Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), any and all applicable State and Federal Statutes, and any and all rules set forth by the Office of Real Estate Appraisers (OREA) and its enforcement within California; and

d) To advocate for, and to support, continuing education, the highest standards of professionalism among all appraisers within every discipline in California, and to strongly encourage active and continued membership of California appraisers in local and national appraiser organizations.

5. No part of the net earnings of the corporation shall inure to the benefit of any member or private shareholder, as defined in Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(6). California Coalition of Appraisal Professionals (CaCAP) will not engage in the qualification for, and/or issuance of, professional appraiser designations.
